We know most of our producers personally, and most of them have a very interesting story to tell!
Our sausages come from Pomeroy Rare Breeds near Launceston, where Neil established his pig farm initially to provide food for his own children because he was tired of boring shop bought sausages! He now has numerous pigs, including Tamworth and Saddleback breeds and supplies all over the south-west. J & S Downings Butchers of Tavistock supply us with locally reared beef and lamb, and make our excellent burgers and Hogs Pudding.
Much of our salad and vegetables come from the Tamar Valley (Rock Park Organics and Calstock Farm Stall) the rest comes from Tavistock Market Garden and Holsworthy Organics - plus the occasional glut from our customers own gardens.
The cheese we use in our recipes comes from Country Cheeses in Tavistock and our milk and clotted cream is supplied to us by Dunns Dairy, Exbourne and Langage Farm, Plympton.
We can offer you Devon apple juice from George Travis at Westlake Orchards in Beaworthy and Spring Mineral water from Manor Hall, Kelly. Luscombe Organics supplies us with a range of delicious natural juices and Ginger Beer.
What would a good burger be without a good chutney - and what better than chutneys made by Malcolm of Hog’s Bottom, Tavistock
As well as making our own breads we also use bread from Honey’s Bakery in Horrabridge
And all the other stuff we use
Where we can’t source produce from this country such as tea, coffee and chocolate, we buy Fairtrade products from Revolution of Tavistock and from SVS Coffee of Launceston. Finally and this is turning into an epic, we purchase foods, such as dried fruit and oats, from Kilworthy Kapers in Tavistock
