In the Summer of 2005, Food Dreckly was started as a community project to encourage greater use of, and add value too, the local produce sold in Tavistock Farmers Market. By the Spring of 2006 three of the long term volunteers on the stall (myself included, hello... I'm Jane) took on Food Dreckly as a business operating out of Tavistock Cattle Market.
In time (not that long after) I drove everyone mad and I became the sole owner of Food Dreckly, together with a small team we now ran the cafe, market stall and an outside catering business.
During our time running the cafe we collected a number of awards, which with no shame I shall proceed to list them below:
Since 2010 Food Dreckly has operated entirely as an outside catering business, still offering the same excellent quality and focus on local, seasonal food.
Our use of local and seasonal produce is genuine and dictates all that we do; it is not just a few items on the menu or one or two ingredients in a dish, it's the whole hog (sometimes literally an actual entire hog!).
